"Die Fahne hoch" is the beginning of the German national anthem, also known as "Deutschlandlied" (Song of Germany). It was written by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben in 1841 and its melody was composed by Joseph Haydn. The anthem was adopted in 1922 and has been the national anthem of Germany since 1952.
